Ortur Laser Master 3 (10 W diode)

Unverified starting points - test on a scrap first. These are rough estimates, not yet burned and verified on hardware; diode output varies with lens condition, focus and material batch. A verified, community-voted database (real burns, photos) is on the roadmap - it isn't built yet.

The machine

The Laser Master 3 pairs a 10 W optical output LU2-10A module (two combined diodes, 445 ± 5 nm) with a 400 × 400 mm open aluminum frame and a 32-bit GRBL board (USB and Wi-Fi). Ortur rates travel up to 20,000 mm/min - photo work runs far slower than that. It ships with an unusually complete safety pack for this class: flame detector, gyroscope tilt sensor, exposure-duration limiter, limit switches and an emergency stop. The nozzle is air-assist ready; the pump is sold separately.

Prepare the photo with EngraveBot

Open Photo to Laser, load your photo and pick the material preset (wood, slate or tile) - it applies the dithering algorithm and DPI from the table above. Export a PNG at that DPI and import it into LaserGRBL or LightBurn, or export a .lbrn2 project with the layer pre-filled - then overwrite speed and power with whatever your own test grid proved. Quirks worth knowing

Air assist is optional here - for photo engraving run it low or off, since a strong jet can smear ash across the image; its real job is keeping the lens clean on darker burns. The gyroscope can pause a job if you knock the table, which is a feature, not a bug - just re-run from a known origin. The dual-diode spot is slightly asymmetric, so keep photo DPI at or below ~318 to avoid mushy overlap. And treat the 20,000 mm/min headline as travel speed, not an engraving setting. Wear rated goggles and never leave a burn unattended.
