Creality Falcon 10W (10 W diode)
Unverified starting points - test on a scrap first. These are rough estimates, not yet burned and verified on hardware; diode output varies with lens condition, focus and material batch. A verified, community-voted database (real burns, photos) is on the roadmap - it isn't built yet.
The machine
The CR-Laser Falcon 10W is Creality's entry diode engraver: 10 W optical output from a dual-diode 455 nm module, a 400 × 415 mm work area and a rated top speed of 10,000 mm/min. It arrives largely pre-assembled on a belt-driven open frame, with an eye-protection shield built around the beam path and a fixed-focus lens set with the included height gauge. GRBL-based, so LaserGRBL and LightBurn both work. No air assist on this model - that arrived with the Falcon2.

Prepare the photo with EngraveBot
Open Photo to Laser, load your photo and pick the material preset (wood, slate or tile) - it applies the dithering algorithm and DPI from the table above. Export a PNG at that DPI and import it into LaserGRBL or LightBurn, or export a .lbrn2 project with the layer pre-filled - then overwrite speed and power with whatever your own test grid proved. Quirks worth knowing
The built-in shield is genuinely useful but makes the burn harder to watch - that is not a license to walk away; never leave a job unattended. It ships mostly assembled, but check belt tension anyway before the first photo. The dual-diode spot is slightly oval, so keep photo DPI at or below ~318 to avoid overlap mush. And with no air assist, expect smoke staining on light woods - mask the surface or wipe with a damp cloth after. Wear rated goggles regardless of the shield.
